Brownies leader aims to raise £1,800

Injured Brown Owl makes it to the finish

An injury after 11 miles of the London Marathon didn't stop Sandra Aldworth, from Clayhidon. When her knee “packed up”  she carried on walking – for another 15 miles.
“Yes, I finished, but I won’t say it went well,” said the Hemyock Brownies leader.  Her time was 6hrs 45m, “just in front of the dustcarts!”
Sandra, 52,  hopes to raise £1,800 for Girl Guiding.  She hasn't raised it all yet and if you would like to sponsor her you can do it via the Just Giving website on this link.
“The support and the organisation were fantastic," she said. "It was really great that people stayed out to cheer the tail enders. It gave us a super boost.
“I don’t think I can do it again. My joints can’t do the 26.2 miles. However, I might give a half marathon a try.”
