Eight candidates stand for seven parish seats
Eight candidates are standing for a place on Clayhidon Parish Council on 7 May. As there are only seven seats there will be an election.
Alan Redwood has stepped down, but all the other existing councillors are standing again.
Two new candidates have been nominated – Graham Langford, sheep farmer and former council chairman, and Alison Weekes, who has lived in the parish for 20 years and helped set up the parish website.

Three stand for MDDC in Upper Culm
In the Mid-Devon District Council election there are three candidates standing for two places in the Upper Culm ward. They are:

  • GRAHAM David Ewart, of Radford House, Culmstock, UK Independence Party UKIP
  • HUGHES Glanmor, of  Whitting House, Nicholashayne, Conservative Party Candidate
  • ROSAMOND Frank James, of Croft Cottage, Prescott, Independent. 
Parliamentary candidates
There are five candidates for the parliamentary constituency of Tiverton & Honiton on 7 May:
  • EDWARDS Paul, of Lapford, Crediton, Green Party;
  • KEARNEY Stephen,Liberal Democrats
  • KOLEK Caroline Julia, of Honiton, Labour Party;
  • PARISH Neil Quentin Gordon, The Conservative Party Candidate;
  • SMITH Graham, UK Independence Party (UKIP).
