Parish Council resignation

Parish council vacancy after Alex Hill resigns
Alex Hill has resigned after five years as a Clayhidon Parish Councillor. He told the council at its meeting on 12 September that he was finding it increasingly difficult to attend meetings.
Alex, who has lived at Bollhayes, Clayhidon for over 30 years, was first elected in 2011 and again in 2015.
The council must now follow a legal procedure.  Mid Devon’s Returning Officer, Nick Sanderson, issued a formal notice on 26 September. This stated that if 10 registered Clayhidon electors submitted a written request to him within 14 working days there would be an election.
If a poll is not claimed, the council has powers to co-opt a replacement. >Official notice of vacancy
