Kate Daniels' band comprises a distinguished and well-known crew: John Horler who has played with almost everyone but most significantly has been Cleo Laine's pianist for the last 20 years, Alec Dankworth – plays with Ginger Baker and Van Morrison and also happens to be Cleo and Johnny Dankworth’s son and Graham Pike - trumpet and chromatic harmonica (and as an aside - the original composer of the Tweenies music!)

Kate Daniels is a singer and ‘jazz storyteller’ and the show is a celebration of some of the memorable songs from the Great American Songbook interspersed with stories about the songwriters and the musicians who originally performed the songs. The theme for this show at Broadhembury Memorial Hall is ‘Glamorous Nights -From Hoagy Carmichael to Peggy Lee’. An evening of sophistication and nostalgia with songs from the 30’s and 40’s including the songs of Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.

“Kate creates the intimate and engaging atmosphere of a storyteller, as she shines a light on the songs she sings and the lives of the songwriters.  The result is a captivating show that is pure entertainment and celebrates some of the great songwriters and musicians of the Jazz age whilst treating the audience to a wonderful live concert.”
