Agenda item 4.2 – Mr Blackmore declared a personal interest as he owns land adjacent to the application.

Applications considered for:-

4.1       18/02011/FULL.  Conversion of agricultural building to dwelling.  Smiths Farm, Clayhidon.

PROPOSAL:  The council supports the application.

PROPOSED:  Mrs Weekes

4.2        18/02002/FULL.  Conversion of former smithy building to dwelling, demolition of adjoining agricultural buildings and replacement with extensions; formation of parking and amenity space and alterations to retained workshop.  Workshop Searles, Clayhidon. 

PROPOSAL:  The council supports the application.

PROPOSED:  Mrs Weekes

4.3        18/02054/FULL.  Erection of multipurpose agricultural building including livestock housing, farm workshop and storage.  Tickle Penny, Clayhidon. 

PROPOSAL:  The council does not support the application.  It has concerns about access (using an ancient cart track), the design of the building being 2-storey, its suitability in an AONB, food hygiene implications if rabbits are slaughtered on site, transportation issues if they are not slaughtered on site and whether it is a viable business.

4.4        18/01914/FULL.  Formation of an agricultural access following removal of 10m of hedgerow.  Land adjacent 4 Oakleigh, Battle Street, Clayhidon.

PROPOSAL:  The council has no objection to the application providing Highways approve the plans.

4.5       18/01260/FULL.  Change of use of agricultural land to mixed agricultural and equestrian, erection of timber-framed barn and construction of manege.  Poachers Rest, Clayhidon.

4.6       18/01752/FULL.  Change of use of redundant agricultural building to dwelling.  Barpark,   Clayhidon.

6.                  Lengthsman

Mr C Houghton attended the meeting to update the council on the state of the roads/drains/ditches etc. in the parish and other works he had identified. 

PROPOSAL:  Mr C Houghton to complete urgent jobs and clear those gullies and ditches identified.  He will invoice monthly and update the council with a schedule of works.

7.                 Items raised by Clerk

Clerk has approached Highways requesting ‘unsuitable for HGV’ signs.  Highways will not erect any signs at top of Rosemary Lane.  It advised the parish to erect its own signs on private land.  Clerk to obtain prices for signs and posts.
