Clayhidon Parish Council, March 2013

Clayhidon Annual Parish Meeting
11 March 2013.

The Annual Parish Meeting was held earlier, than usual, this year due to the early Easter. It fell on one of the coldest evenings of the winter which, unfortunately, deterred many parishioners. This meeting provides a roundup of events in Clayhidon over the previous year.

Reports included a summary of Parish Council events, and an update on the parish footpaths and woods. The major parish event of the year was the Jubilee celebration which was very well attended and was a successful and enjoyable event.

Gareth Weekes reported that the website has been used 65% more than in the previous year and suggested ways that the Parish could make more use of the website. These suggestions will be considered further at the next Parish council meeting.

Summaries of accounts were presented for The Parish Council, The Clayhidon Charity and The Mary Waldren Charity.

Councillors Radford and Rosmund gave summaries of the past year for Devon County and Mid Devon District Council.

Many organisations had also had an active and successful year. Details were presented by The Parish Hall Committee, Clayhidon Friends, Clayhidon Local History Group, Smeatharpe Hall and Rosemary Lane Chapel.

The minutes of this meeting, including the individual reports, will be on the website soon.
