Clayhidon's new councillors

Two new members were elected to Clayhidon Parish Council on 7 May.
Sheep Farmer Graham Langford, of Great Garlandhayes, (pictured left) is a former chairman who resigned at a previous election, but was voted back onto the council this time with 132 votes.
Retired journalist Alison Weekes, of Deadbeer (right), who helps run the Clayhidon website, was elected at her second attempt with 142 votes. Farmer Maurice Bendle came top of the poll with 201 votes. Bob Pike, who has been a member for many years, was unsuccessful this time. Another veteran of the council, Alan Redwood, did not stand.

Out of a total electorate of 390, 306 people (78.5 per cent) voted.Clayhidon was one of only nine parishes and town council wards in Mid Devon to hold an election. Another was Hemyock.
